Where will we walk?
With open borders to the Kruger National Park, the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is renowned for its abundant wildlife. Vuya Mobile Camp is located in a secluded section of this Big Five reserve that boasts beautiful savannah bushveld. The low game vehicle density gives an exclusive feel to the walking safari and allows for immersive and intimate encounters with the area’s diverse fauna and flora.
Where will we stay?
Our Vuya Mobile Camp is a more informal, temporary structure with no barriers between you and the wild. Here it’s not uncommon to wake up at night to the mighty roar of a nearby lion or enjoy your brunch while watching a grazing elephant enjoy his.
Vuya guests arrive to a beautifully laid out campsite set up specifically for each trip. Hammocks hang from shady trees, camping chairs look out over the riverbed, a campfire crackles a hearty welcome, and a cooler box greets you with ice and cold drinks.
The Vuya Mobile Camp has four large two-sleeper canvas tents equipped with stretchers, basic linen and an enamel water basin for freshening up. Hot water bucket showers let you bathe with the best views, while eco-friendly mobile ablutions provide privacy and comfort.
While this is our more rustic trail option, we still ensure our guests have all the necessary amenities required and that you are always well looked after. Vuya Mobile Camp brings you closer to nature than ever before and makes for an unforgettable, wild experience.

Getting there
The Vuya Timabavati Mobile Camp is situated in the Northern region of the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, in Mpumalanga Province. Our pick-up point is a 6 hour 30 minute drive from Johannesburg, 3 hours 30 minutes from Nelspruit Airport or 1 hour 15 minutes from Eastgate (Hoedspruit) Airport.
